                          Memorial and Celebration Options

Yahrzeit Memorial Plaques - $360

In our sanctuary we have memorial plaques that honor the loved ones of members of our synagogue. We have these plaques because our Torah talks of Abraham paying for a resting place and marker for his beloved Sara after she passed away. Each year we help you fulfill the mitzvah of lighting a memorial light at the proper times. The plaque honors your loved one and is a visual remembrance and a comfort for family members. If you choose to purchase a memorial plaque, the cost is $360 and you will receive annual notification of the Yahrzeit and a reminder for the recitation of the Kaddish.

Dedicate A Pew Seat - $300

The pews in the sanctuary are a place of rest as our congregants engage in teachings and worship during services. You can honor your loved one with a engraved dedicated pew plaque. You may order your plaque for $300.

Tree of Life - Leaf $180 Root $360

Congregation B’nai Israel is only as vibrant as each one of its congregants. We recognize each other for our contributions to our kehillah, celebrate life events, engage in holiday festivities and work on fostering a feeling of inclusiveness among the Jewish community in Gainesville. The Tree of Life is full of recognition of joyous events in lives of our members, their families and friends. Leaves on the tree can be dedicated for $180, which includes the cost of engraving. You may dedicate a “root” of the tree for $360.

Dedicate Prayer Books - $100

You may dedicate a prayer book in appreciation, acknowledgment, in honor or in memory of a loved one. Each dedicated will be inscribed in a prayer book and a card will be sent to the recipient of the tribute. The cost to dedicate a prayer book is $100.

Naming Opportunities

As you walk through the shul, you may notice that many rooms have plaques that denote a contribution to have a room/area dedicated. If you are interested in naming opportunities, please contact the synagogue office for more information.
