We hope you will join us for Shabbat services in the B'nai Israel sanctuary, but if you are unable to be with us, we invite you to participate in our congregation's services through our internet broadcast. Click here to access.

 

This year, B'nai Israel will be combining the Jewish Food Festival and the Purim Carnival into one extraordinary event: the Jewish Cultural FestivalThe event is set to take place on Sunday, March 17th from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Congregation B'nai Israel (3830 NW 16th Blvd.). 
 
Please bring your entire family and join us for the same delicious and authentic Jewish deli food as we celebrate the spirit and festivities of Purim!  A portion of the proceeds will benefit Chavaya so you can support our Hebrew school while enjoying the festival.

At the festival, you will be able to purchase a la carte deli sandwiches (beef pastrami, turkey pastrami, or corned beef), falafel, hummus & pita, knishes, Israeli salad, Chavaya-made pickles, black and white cookies, rugelach & hamentaschen.
There also will be:
  • A shuk of vendors for you to gather items for your Mishloach Manot
    • Joining us are Darlene Marshall (author), Gustavo Rebello of Biogera, LLC (farmer), Karen Eberly of Karen's Collection (crafter), and our very own Judaica Shop. 
  • Raffle prizes from local businesses
    • Special thanks to The Bagel Bakery, Uppercrust Productions, and Downtown Wine and Cheese!
  • Carnival games
  • A costume contest
  • A bounce house
  • Laser tag (11 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.)
  • The Sun Country Gym Bus (11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.)
  • Face painting by Emmazing Face Painting
  • Live entertainment (featuring Klezmer Katz and Jenny, Gainesville's Hometown Clown)!

Adult admission will be free (all food will be sold a la carte).

$15 per child (12 and under): Includes access to all activities, a hot dog, chips, and a drink.

SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

As we approach the Jewish Cultural Festival, we would like to invite you to promote your business or practice by sponsoring this event.  We also welcome individuals and families to sponsor!  We have several opportunities for you to establish a presence at the event, and you can choose the level that suits your needs and budget.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

FESTIVAL VENDORS

Do you make specialty food items, jewelry, or bath products?  Are you a writer or an artist?  Whatever your craft, we would love to have you set up and sell your products at the food festival.  You will be part of a shuk of other vendors so that festival-goers can gather items for their Mishloach Manot!  No vendor fee required.

Interested?  Claim your spot by Wednesday, February 27th!

RAFFLE PRIZE DONATIONS

Do you have an item that would be perfect in a raffle basket?  We would love to include it as exposure for your business!  We also welcome donations from individual congregants and families!  Possible items include specialty food, gift vouchers, dishware, promotional giveaways, and more! 

If you are interested in supporting the cultural festival by donating a raffle prize, please notify the synagogue office about your item before Wednesday, February 27th.
