Join Rabbi David Kaiman, Cantor Asaf Nagel and the B'nai Israel Community for the High Holidays 5772/2011!
We look forward to greeting you on the New Year and extend our wishes for a healthy and happy 5772. We are planning an inspiring and spiritually enriching High Holy Days season for all of us to experience together.
High holiday tickets will be distributed to all members of B’nai Israel. Tickets for your out-of-town guests are available from the synagogue office. Please contact the synagogue office at 376-1508 x100 to request additional tickets. We do not charge for these, but contributions in honor of High Holy Days are always welcome.
We welcome non-members to experience the High Holidays with us, as well. Non-members may obtain High Holiday tickets through the Synagogue office, at a suggested donation of $100 per ticket. Full-time college students and military personnel with identification may receive complimentary tickets. As always, no one will ever be turned away from services due to financial circumstances.
The volunteer ushers may ask you to wait to be seated until a particular part of the service has been completed. Please cooperate with the ushers. Arriving on time assures you a greater selection of seats. If you wish to sit with a specific group of people, please arrive with them. Kol Nidre services will begin promptly at 6:45 p.m. Please arrive early.
This year, we will once again offer Communal Break Fast at the close of Yom Kippur. Families are welcome and encouraged to join us for the Neilah service and to join us for the meal. Reservations in the form of prepayment ($20/adult, $10/child) are required by October 4.
Your children are welcome to sit with you in services; however, Children’s Programs and babysitting will be available in the school wing for children ages 2 – 13. Babysitting for children under 2 requires special arrangements – please contact our office. Please note that on the first day of Rosh Hashanah, the children will take an active role in leading their own services, as they will have prepared for this in Chavaya (religious school) during the month of September.
We expect that teens will participate in the main sanctuary service with their families. Only teens who have made special volunteer arrangements in advance will be allowed in the classroom area. We are proud to offer supplemental programming for Teens. Students in 8th-12th grades are invited to join Cheryl Kaplan in the library for Teen Minyan at 10:30 a.m. on the first day of Rosh Hashanah (September 30) and on Yom Kippur (October 9) for Torah study and High Holiday learning. Please note that the Youth Lounge will not be open for teens during services.
Please contact Erin in the synagogue office for more information.
L'shanah Tovah Tikateivu-may we all be inscribed for a healthy and fulfilling new year.
